this weeks font author:
Claudio Piccinini is a perfect stranger which does not like the contemporary world at all and does not pretend to be famous in any way. He likes to draw letterforms, alphabets, typefaces on his trusty old computer and is fascinated by graphic design which combines visual and verbal in a more complete form of communication.
His typeface designs are featured at Emigre and Thirstype and Space Age was an early geometric experiment while still learning to use type design software.
Watch out next year for Claudio's upcoming phantom foundry Thoughtype.
give him a hand and mail to mailto:picci_c@sincretech.it.

inspiring stuff - my personal favorites #10 the perfect soundtrack for this season:
33.3's first album.
it takes just an electric guitar, a cello and drums to take me far away over the land through falling red leaves - the sun is shining and the cold wind on my face smells like winter.

fontomas is formerly known as eyesaw - the site is still available, but it'll rest in peace.
like we did for over 2 years now fontomas offers typographic experiments, downloadable for free.
envolved in the process of generating fonts are designers from the uk, the netherlands, sweden, italy, usa and germany.
there will be one font presented and downloadable for only one week (updates on wednesdays not mondays!) and then it disappears - no archive.
be there or be square (there'll be a cd-rom at the end of the first fontomas - year, just in time for xmas 2001.).

don't forget - the previous "fonts of the week" are no longer available for download.
here's what you've missed until now from the beginning:
